There is a bike parked in my living room

Yes! It really is.
I have always struggled with inspiration. Some days it would come to me, most days I had to go looking for it. But I have to say N boy has changed the situation. Apart from the time issues, which is sparse, but when I actually sit down to do something, things fly at me.
For instance this bike, all I had to do was shift my gaze and there it is!
I am telling you, there are so many adorable, colorful and playful things around the house that I can document them forever. Which is a good thing ..right??

Finished mosaic project

Since I have been a lazy lazy blogger....I made this one ages ago and realized I never updated it here.
Thankfully I have a pic at each stage.
This is one of those things that you use to put hot pots on to save the surface...(what do u call it??? )

I was very determined to go slow, have patience to break 1000 small pieces and actually have a plan.

After I was done cutting and gluing down all the pieces.

And the grouting...

Grouting brings in  world of difference. Its not very evident from the picture but trust me it does.

That's what I have been up to...

Just hanging out....and doing nothing.

Sounds like a plan to me :)

Story of a girl who could not draw loosely

I found this about my self when I was taking the basic drawing class. And we were exploring gesture drawings. That I could not draw loosely.

This was my object

This is what I interpreted of it...

This is what I was suppose to make...(made by my prof.)

This is what I was told... :(

And then began my journey...

I absolutely failed to comprehend what "loose" or "expressive" is

I tried drawing with left hand :FAIL:

I tried procrastination :DID NOT HELP: (never does)
I tried pretending to be messy :FAIL:
I tried with closed eyes :COULD NOT SEE MUCH:
Tried
Tried

And then LIKE THAT I was "genuinely" loose

I thought may be I got lucky, I should try again to test it :IT WORKED:

And again...:IT WORKED:

I thought may be I should try with another color:IT still WORKED:

I could not contain my excitement , I could not believe I can actually draw like this...

I was unstoppable

And following two were my submission in the finals

.

And I got good grades :)

Moral of the story : "I don't know" (in Spongbob voice :)

Thing a day 2 - hoot hoot

Catching up...this was really made in a hurry...its better to make something than to make nothing at all...

(I think I cud have done a better job)

Thing a Day 1

I know I am late but in my defence there has been an ice strom in my area and last night there was power outage.
The good part was today I got a snow day

Contour drawing

Couple of weeks back the assignment was in Contour Drawing, There was literally a flee market in the middle of the class and we were suppose to pick 10 objects and draw them. They had to be very very simple line drawings and all the objects had to be transparent. We had to use various pencils/pens.

The critique I got was there was no variation in my line, in the sense within a single object the shade and thickness of the line remained same. I guess I will try to improve that.
This was the complete picture, Remembers my comfort with little drawing surfaces, forget about it....now I only work in a 18x24 inches big sketch book....:) and it feels damn good. My teacher said a wonderful thing..."while drawing use your whole body not just your hands."

Blast from the past

Lol, you cannot go any further past...these people come from way back in time. We are studying gesture drawing. My teacher told me "don't be afraid of going outside the line...and loose." I really really had trouble doing this, I mean I was literally in physical pain in going outside the line. Not that I am a perfectionist, but my resistance to go out my comfort zone amazed me. I am going there....it will take time...:) until than I m on the line...

Art attack continued

"Extinct is forever"...I picked that line from a t-shirt.  But it totally fits here.

This looks like a Slumber Party... The colors are really bright and dark....something I did not intended. Reminds me of good old days when me and my two best friends would spend nights talking and giggling and dreaming and wondering about the future...who knew it would come so soon...

Almost art attack

This is more of a hint to Enn....   :)

Is this too early....well after putting the orange and black color scheme it had to be Halloween...

"Never been kissed..."

And yesterday at a local fair, I got me these pretty pretty charms...a spatula and goblet. Its super mini, like a couple of cm's. Luv it I mean what's life without good food and wine :)

Aqua Girl

She also has a lot subtle glitter in her, in her eyes and in her hair. And with all the blues, it looks like she also has sand in her feet.
